Get. It. DONE! How I stop myself from procrastinating.

Going into my final year of undergrad, I can say with confidence that I procrastinate. A lot. As a full-time student who works multiple jobs, it can be hard sometimes to find the motivation to write an essay or plan out my tasks adequately. Here are my three favorite tips for keeping myself motivated and productive:
1. Make a to-do list
This one’s simple, yet effective for me. Whenever I get stressed or overwhelmed, I find it so much easier to be able to write down my tasks instead of letting everything sit in my head. It takes a load off my brain and also helps me keep track of what I need to do and what has already been done.
2. Take frequent breaks
Studies have shown that activity sparks motivation. Tell yourself you’re going to work for 5 or 10 minutes and then take a break. Eventually, you’ll find yourself more productive and less likely to need breaks as often.
3. Switch off tasks
This is especially helpful when you have way too much going on and you don’t know where to start. Do a little bit of that task, and then switch over to a different activity. Take everything slowly, work your way up to bigger tasks, and give yourself grace. You’re doing an amazing job.
I hope these tips help if you’ve been struggling with productivity, but always remember to prioritize yourself. If things get too overwhelming, it’s okay to take a breather. Stressing yourself out further will only result in poor-quality work and a bad mental-health day. Now, use these tips and get some work done. Happy productivity!
