Supported and Appreciated: My Internship at ARCC
By: Olivia Byers
I am eternally grateful for the semester spent as the Fundraising and Executive Support Intern for the Anti-Racism Commitment Coalition. Coming into the foundation as a political science student with a passion for helping others, I knew that I would enjoy my time at ARCC, but I was completely unaware of the effect that it would have on my life.
Throughout the internship, I felt incredibly supported by Donzel and Jeremiah as I researched alternatives to our pre-existing fundraising platform, aided in website migration, and looked into grants to apply for. By dipping my toes into several different executive support duties, I grew my skill set and further developed critical skills such as grant writing that I can use to aid in my future career.
As a student going into my senior year at Lehigh University, I have had various internship experiences despite my limited time in the working field, and I never felt as supported and appreciated as I have at the ARCC. I loved working in an environment where everyone fights for the same cause and works as a cohesive team. While my internship was remote, I was able to build valuable relationships with my mentors that I hope to carry with me forever.
A special thank you to Donzel Leggett, Jeremiah Cox, and everyone who made my experience at the ARCC that much more worthwhile! I would recommend this internship to anyone with the hopes of using their diverse skillset to make the world a better place.
