In my roles as an educator and a school board member, I am privileged to work with incredible BIPOC students and community members. They, as well as BIPOC members of my family and chosen family, continue to experience racism in many forms. As a white woman, I know that it is my responsibility to work in solidarity with them to dismantle any systems that harm them overtly or implicitly, and to support anti-racist ways of being together in community. This is what true community means to me. Thank you for creating ARCC—I’m grateful to be part of this coalition.
